Being an only child of two adventurous parents offers unique benefits. From a young age, I traveled across the world with them. I recall magical moments of awe amidst the vast diversity of humanity, time, and place. I attempt to craft stories that celebrate the ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness of the human spirit.
Growing up, I was fascinated by unsung heroes who bring the extraordinary into everyday life. As a writer, I observe stories that reveal the beauty and depth of the human spirit. I find inspiration in ordinary people who quietly make a positive difference for those around them and around the world.
Today, as a university professor with a Doctorate in Health Science, I continue to travel the world and celebrate humanity’s quiet victories. My adventures have shown me how creativity unites generations, places, and eras. I craft stories to honor the ingenuity, imagination, and resourcefulness of the human spirit.
Before I was ten years old, I remember being captivated by David’s face, the size of the Colosseum, and the stoic strength of Pompeii. I felt each was reaching out to me, trying to spark my imagination and sense of wonder. As I became more skilled with my camera, I documented the variety of life during my travels with my parents, as moments in the Sistine Chapel moved me to tears. I felt the art and wonder and wondered if people are spiritual beings confined to a human existence. The feeling quickly faded as my parents and I passed through the front door into crowds of people begging for food. How do you decide what, where, and how to prioritize? Why is there a disconnect between them, and how do we fix it?
